Answer questions involving an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and technical processes; maintain complex files and records; modify or devise forms for reporting data and establish controls for insuring accuracy of data; comply with complex procedures in processing forms, reports, or requisitions which significantly affect school or District functions, initiate and receive a volume of calls and personal contacts from schools, other District units, other organizations or districts, and the public relating to the technical work of the office; compile and post data and information to card and record files which have legal, administrative, or confidential importance; contact parents by phone to verify and validate student absences; information, and test scores and forward them to other school districts; recapitulate data and compile special reports; serve as receptionist to students, teachers, and the general public; receive and reply to oral and written requests for information of a specialized or confidential nature requiring the use of discretion and judgment in explaining regulations and procedures; does complex typing and operates a variety of office equipment; may train student assistants and other personnel; may operate word processing equipment or computer terminals.

Under general supervision to perform a wide variety of clerical duties requiring the application of specialized knowledge or skills involving frequent and responsible public and district personnel. The selection process tentatively consists of the District application review, proficiency exam, and interviews. The Human Resources Department will contact all applicants once the selection process has been finalized. IMPORTANT DATES: The application screening will be conducted on January 30, 2023. Emails will be sent to all applicants and only qualified applicants will be given the exam and interview information. Tentative Interview Date: TBD MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: Any combination, equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of clerical experience. SKILLS Must successfully pass district clerical test. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver’s License and verification of insurability. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Some positions in this class may require individuals who can read, write, and/or speak a second language. If incumbents are placed where they work with children, they must obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
