The Centralia Elementary School District is seeking one(1) dynamic and collaborative bilingual educators to launch our Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program. Ideal candidates will be committed to the success of the program and will lead instruction for the inaugural kindergarten and 1st grade classes. The position is permanent and the successful candidate will be offered a probationary contract for the 2022/23 school year. The mission of the DLI program is to develop the bilingual, biliterate, and sociocultural competencies of students using additive approaches in a two-way bilingual education context (while meeting grade level content achievement benchmarks). The program will offer an initial language ratio of 90:10 for instruction. Kindergarten will be taught in Spanish for 90% of the school day with the remaining 10% of instruction designated for English immersion. The language ratio will shift at each grade level span as students matriculate.
