Requirements / Qualifications

Folsom Cordova Unified School District is seeking to build a team that is representative of the Folsom Cordova student body and community. Diverse individuals are encouraged to apply. The Student Support Specialist position will be for Mills Middle School. This innovative person will work collaboratively with staff, youth and their families to create a MTSS system that uses a restorative practices and strengths-based approach to meeting the needs of students. The Specialist will work directly with students struggling with attendance, academic, and/or behavioral challenges, as well as with staff and community partners to create a comprehensive prevention and early intervention system, with a goal of on-time graduation and working with administration on a restorative response to student behavior challenges. Experience: At least two years of professional experience performing similar functions and duties, preferably in a school setting. Experience in implementing tiered interventions in a diverse setting is preferred. Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Public Health or Nursing from an accredited college or university. Credential Requirements: Teaching, School Nurse Services, or Pupil Personnel Services Credential. Can be enrolled in program to earn one of these credentials. Any combination of experience and education which demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties may be considered. Employment is conditional upon satisfaction set forth below: - DOJ Clearance /Background Check - TB Clearance - Valid CA Driver’s License - Board of Trustees Approval
