Requirements / Qualifications
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, patrol and monitor an assigned campus to maintain order, safety, and security; assure student compliance with school and District policies and regulations; perform grounds and/or custodial duties and other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education: High school graduate or the equivalent. Proof must be submitted at time of employment. Experience: Experience working with middle school or senior high school students. Testing: Passing score on District Campus Supervisor/Security test within the last three (3) years. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Driver’s License; Valid First Aid and CPR certificate and must be kept current as a condition of continued employment; SB 1626 School Security Officer Training certificate; Training in powers of arrest/search & seizure. Proof of certificates (copies) must be submitted with application. Proof of required certificates (copies) must be submitted with the application. WORKING HOURS: Substitute Campus Security works on call, as needed, generally with short notice, at any of the schools in Colton, Bloomington, Grand Terrace, and the Southridge area of Fontana, which are included in the Colton Joint Unified School District. The number of hours per day will vary with each assignment. There are no guaranteed number of hours, no guarantee of a permanent position and no benefits available for hourly employees. In addition, hourly employees are not considered regular or permanent employees of CJUSD. TESTING INFORMATION: The District Campus Supervisor/Security test will be given by invitation only on a to be determined date. Testing invitations will be sent via email

Proof of freedom from active tuberculosis based upon an inter-dermal test must be furnished at time of employment. Public Law 99-603 (Immigration, Naturalization & Control Act of 1986) requires that all employees hired after November 6, 1986 provide proof of work eligibility. Therefore, if hired please be prepared to present appropriate documentation verifying identity and ability to work legally in the U.S.
