Welcome to Paramount Unified School District. Job Summary
DEFINITION: AVID tutors work with students in middle and high school in small group settings under the direction of the AVID Elective teacher. They serve as role models of motivated, organized, successful college students who believe that AVID students can and will succeed. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge & Abilities: Knowledge of higher level math and the writing process. Ability to supervise students in small groups or individually. Ability to: Determine from student notes and discussions the concepts that need to be taught or re-taught for students. Duties & Responsibilities: Supervise students in maintaining AVID binders, become familiar with student textbooks and materials. Conduct brainstorming and clustering sessions as well as lead peer critique groups in the writing conference. Participate regularly in training provided by the district. Education & Experience: Currently enrolled in a 4-year college. And have completed 48 units
