Job Summary
Acts as a teacher for cosmetology, esthetician, manicurist, and/or barbering courses. Teaches any assigned class blocks for a complete session (quarterly) in hair care, skin care, nail care, and/or barbering. May also be assigned shifts to oversee students working in The Salon at Simi Institute. This department offers a daytime program and an evening/Saturday program of study to students. A variety of classes and salon shifts occur during daytime Mon-Fri 8:30AM - 4:00PM, evening Mon-Thurs 5:30PM - 9:00PM, & Saturday sessions 8:30AM - 4:00 PM.
Requirements / Qualifications
Professional Expert Qualifications > Valid California License as an esthetician, cosmetologist, manicurist, or barber > 2+ years of salon/spa experience and 1+ year of teaching in the field of cosmetology, esthetics, manicuring, or barbering Certificated Instructor Qualifications > Professional Expert qualifications AND > Current California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential: Public Services OR > Current California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential: Fashion and Interior Design
