Job Summary
Job Summary
Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking action oriented and results driven individuals with strong leadership skills to apply for the position of Head Start Program Manager, Quality Start Los Angeles (QSLA). Under administrative direction, the Head Start Program Manager, Quality Start Los Angeles plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the activities and staff of the QSLA team; develops and oversees the establishment of Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) programs, systems, and procedures for the Head Start and Early Learning division so that all staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure children are school ready and prepared to transition to kindergarten; provides technical and evaluative monitoring and support services to childcare providers to ensure the comprehensive oversight of QSLA program outcomes; and manages special quality improvement projects, such as Achieving Comprehensive Excellence (ACE).
Requirements / Qualifications
Required Education and Experience Education: A bachelor's degree in child development, social or behavioral sciences, business administration, public administration, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this class from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Five years of experience in early education and child development program design, administration, and oversight (i.e., creating program policies and procedures, overseeing program services, ensuring adherence to program requirements, and identifying external resources and partnership opportunities) in an early childhood education setting or social services organization, including two years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity. Additional Requirements: A master’s degree in social or behavior sciences, business, administration, public administration, or other closely related field is preferred. A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required. Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
