THE POSITION: The job of Director III-District Business and Advisory Services (DBAS) is done for the purpose/s of directing the overall delivery of External Business Services, supporting day-to-day operations, providing advanced technical advice, SACS reporting, and accounting assistance to school districts and other educational agencies; providing fiscal technical training and oversight of school districts; assisting the Chief of District Business and Advisory Services in planning, developing and directing the activities and operations of District Business and Advisory Services to ensure state and federal compliance timelines and requirements are met. This position is responsible for the supervision of department staff. This job reports to the Assigned Administrator. LOCATION: 313 W. Winton Ave. Hayward, CA 94544

TYPICAL DUTIES: Assists in directing the day-to-day activities of District Business and Advisory Services and related departments (e.g. Software implementations, migrations, Apportionments, financial system processing, accounting, SACS support, PADC support, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring county and LEA state and federal compliance objectives are met while complying with Educational Code and accounting standards. Collaborates with a wide variety of internal and external groups (e.g. Associate Superintendents of Business, other administrators, auditors, public agencies, community organizations, regulatory agencies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring program and financial reporting compliance, confirming long and short-term financial solvency, and addressing departmental objectives, while providing advanced fiscal technical support within the division and member LEAs. Ensures the implementation of corrective action and the resolution of audit findings for LEAs within ACOE. Supports as needed the Day-to-Day financial operations and financial SACs reporting of ACOE’s Direct Service Districts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five (5) experience working in a school district or educational institution with increasing levels of responsibility in District General Ledger management, Accounting, and/or payroll. Management experience required. SACS financial reporting experience required. Bachelor’s degree in job-related area.
