Job Summary
Placer School for Adults is seeking a talented candidate who is ready to support growth in the classroom. The ideal candidate would be bilingual (spanish preferred) with strong computer skills, and have internet access. Familiarity with Google Meet is a plus. This position is 3 nights per week- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Two nights per week with be online and one will be in person. This is a short-term position from 1/17/23 - 6/22/23 The successful candidate will be required to complete FBI/DOJ clearance.

CLASS TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT-ADULT EDUCATION
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Principal, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in the adult school program; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and provide routine clerical support.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Tutor individual or small groups of students in the adult school program, reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher; monitor and oversee student drills, practices and assignments in various subjects.
Provide classroom support to the teacher by setting up work areas and displays, operating equipment, and distributing and collecting paper, supplies and materials; confer with teachers concerning lesson plans and materials to meet student needs.
Assist assigned teacher with the implementation of lesson plans; grade student tests and assignments; confer with students concerning test results; record grades; report progress regarding student performance; maintain student files as assigned.
Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of student assessment and other State-mandated testing programs; compile, print and distribute test rosters for faculty and students as appropriate.
Receive, inspect, count, number and distribute testing materials to school sites according to established procedures; receive, organize and review completed testing forms and materials; prepare completed tests for processing and assure accuracy and completeness of required information.
Input testing data and student information into an assigned computer system; generate a variety of computerized reports and distribute to appropriate departments and school sites as requested; maintain automated records; assure accuracy of input and output information.
Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of classroom activities such as preparing, typing, duplicating and filing instructional materials.
Assure the health and safety of students by following established practices and procedures; maintain learning environment in a safe, orderly and clean manner; clean, set up, and set out instructional materials.
Operate a variety of classroom and office equipment including a computer, copier, paper cutter and laminator.
Assist with the registration of new students as assigned; conduct orientation activities for new students; provide information to members of the community concerning program activities.
Observe and control behavior of students according to approved procedures;
Perform a variety of duties in specialized instructional areas such as computer applications, data entry and desktop publishing as directed.
Monitor inventory levels of classroom supplies; order and receive classroom supplies as directed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience working with students in an organized setting.
