Job Summary
Tentative work schedule: 8:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. (subject to change based on department needs). General Description: Serve as the instructor in the District’s Preschool; plan and supervise activities to meet the needs and interests of children, utilizing knowledge of early child development. The goal is to provide an early childhood education program for preschool-age children allowing for and encouraging parent involvement.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: It is required to have a minimum of 12-semester units of course work in early childhood education or child development (excluding fieldwork). An Associate of Arts degree is preferred. Experience: One (1) year of experience working with children in a learning, childcare, or similar environment. Licenses, Certifications, and other requirements: • Must be at least 18 years or older • Valid Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (or higher) or proof of submission of a CTC Child Development Associate Teacher Permit application – A valid permit must be obtained within the first six months of employment. • Proof required upon hire - Valid first aid/CPR Certification. • Proof required upon hire - Proof of current and valid Tuberculosis screening. Desirable Qualifications: • Teacher Permit or higher (Preferred) • An AA degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education/ Child Development (preferred) • Three (3) years of experience in Early Childhood Education (Preferred)
