Job Summary

The San Diego Unified School District is seeking a Class 3 Construction Inspector to perform a continuous inspection of school construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Requirements / Qualifications

Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to five years of full-time, paid experience in the general construction field, two years of which must have been at a supervisory level or in inspection of building construction. Note: Familiarity with related computer software such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Primavera Unifier is desirable.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided). ****Current Class 3 certification (or better) by the Division of the State Architect (DSA) is required. Applications without an attached certification will not be forwarded in the recruitment process. NOTE: An incumbent in the job class of Class 3 Construction Inspector may be promoted to the next higher classification of Class 2 Construction Inspector upon certification by the department that the incumbent meets the minimum qualifications for the higher classification.
