BASIC FUNCTION: Perform skilled journey-level rough and finish carpentry work in the alteration, renovation, repair, and construction of District facilities. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to reflect the principal job elements accurately.) E = Essential Functions Maintain and repair all woodwork of buildings; fit doors, window, sashes, and screens; install partitions and ceiling tiles. E Repair all floors and roofs. E Perform all necessary milling work. E Set forms, mix and finish concrete. E Design and construct walls, shelves, and fixture work in District facilities. E Construct and repair all types of equipment and wooden fixtures. E Anchor and secure computers, monitors, copiers, microwave ovens, refrigerators, other equipment, and machinery as required. E Repair cafeteria tables, benches, service carts, and other related equipment. E Operate all woodwork equipment, powered and non-powered. E Maintain equipment, tools, and work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner. E Maintain routine records as assigned. E Work with all District employees, architecture and engineering employees, and outside contractors. E Collaborate with other Districts to exchange information on best practices of the profession. E Perform related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years of journey-level carpentry experience.
