Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS •Proven verifiable record of positive staff, student, parent co-worker and/or administrative relationships. •Proven verifiable record of placing appropriate emphasis on good sportsmanship, academic excellence, positive attitude & character. •Demonstrated ability to be a positive role model for student athletes & a commitment to holding all students & adults associated with the program to the same standards. •Long term commitment to develop & sustain a positive, winning tradition. SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES •Responsible for developing practice schedules for all levels in his/her sport as well as other sports in season who share facilities. •Responsible for the general upkeep, inventory & protection of equipment under the jurisdiction of the program. •Maintain ongoing communication with Site Administrators, MS Sports Advisor, and/or Elementary Sports Advisors regarding any developments in the program. •Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted at all times athletes are present. •Reports any unsafe conditions to the facilities administrator and completes work orders in a timely manner to correct safety hazards. •Cooperates with all of the coaches in providing the optimum sports program possible. •Sets up a pre-season parent orientation meeting for all levels, to review eligibility, athletic code, team rules & risk factors for all athletes. •Complies with time restraints for practice and contest schedules, including holidays/Saturdays as well as off-season schedules. •Responsible for safety & securing of team before, during & after events & traveling to & from events. Coach may be required to ride the bus with the team. JOB REQUIREMENTS Successful applicants must complete three state coaching requirement courses online (no charge) & must obtain a valid CPR & First Aid card (paid for by applicant). In addition, new coaches will need to provide TB clearance & fingerprints.
