Job Summary

The Facility Planning and Maintenance and Operations Department provides facility planning, project management, and maintenance/operations support for facilities owned and/or occupied by the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE), including Special Schools and Alternative Education, located at over 76 sites throughout Orange County. OCDE is currently seeking a reliable professional to serve as our Facilities Maintenance Technician. This individual will be responsible for a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the maintenance and repair of OCDE administrative offices, school sites and associated equipment. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The current position has a variable working schedule Tuesday through Saturday, with 8-hour shifts occurring between 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience: A typical way of obtaining the knowledge and abilities: Three (3) years of semi-skilled to skilled facilities maintenance, repair and or construction experience. Graduation from high school or high school equivalency test. Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements: A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under OCDE's vehicle insurance policy is required for certain assignments.
