Job Summary
Job Summary
Provide behavioral and educational counseling to individuals and small groups of students; assist students in understanding and seeking solutions to social, emotional, and educational concerns. Serve as a resource for behavioral management strategies and welfare and attendance problems as well as other related functions, as required. Create and maintain relationships with outside agencies to help foster better learning and support for the students of SJCA and their families. Provide crisis counseling and referrals for students as needed. Consistently and routinely update case files for students on his/her caseload. Exhibit positive rapport with students, families and staff.

Resume 3 Letters of Recommendation Valid CA Pupil Personnel Credential authorizing as counselor MA in Educational Counseling preferred Valid CA driver's license

Demonstrated commitment to students and learning
Experience with students grades K-2
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively and interact effectively with different audiences
Excellent organization, time management and follow-up skills; high sense of urgency; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple cases concurrently
Ability to work as part of a team
Demonstrates ability to adjust to and use new approached in the performance oaf his/her duties
Possess and extensive knowledge of a variety of forms of intervention and prevention models for both individuals and group therapeutic settings
