The La Canada Flintridge Educational Foundation (LCFEF) Summer School has an immediate opening for 7th-12th grade Summer School Principal. The 2023 dates for summer school are June 12, 2023 through July 14, 2023. Staff development day is June 9th. Summer school staff hours are 7:30am – 1:30pm daily. The purpose of the LCFEF Summer School is to provide high quality, rigorous high school course offerings allowing students to improve their academic standing as well as allow students to accelerate and enhance their academic program. LCFEF Summer School also provides 7 & 8 grade students enrichment courses to enhance their learning experience while filling learning gaps and mastering basic curriculum with greater depth.

The position of principal of the LCFEF Summer School is responsible for the daily oversight of the LCFEF summer school operations. This includes participating in the hiring and evaluating of staff, participating in and leading professional development, overseeing student issues including behavior, attendance, mediation of disputes, daily oversight of all staff- securing substitutes, monitoring performance etc.
The principal also works with the academic coordinator in finalizing class offerings and schedules. Since LCFEF Summer School is WASC accredited, the principal is responsible for maintaining a record of enrollment, student grades, and annual survey results in preparation for the next WASC self-study.
Requirements / Qualifications
Credentials:
- Valid California Administrative Credential authorizing service as Administrator
- Valid California Teaching Credential
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Master’s Degree Preferred
Experience:
- Five (5) Years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience preferably at the secondary level.
