Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Associate Superintendent of Educational Services, this Counselor on Special Assignment provides support to LCAP Goal #3: Student Mental Health, Wellness, and Engagement. Essential Job Functions: - Build and maintain a repository of resources for staff on social-emotional learning in alignment with the Collaborative for Academic and Social-Emotional Learning (CASEL) domains with a focus on positive school climate and protective factors to standardize consistency across the school district - Research, evaluate, curate, and support tools related to social-emotional learning and protective factors for staff implementation during Student Connectedness Time (SCT) - Facilitate professional development related to student mental health and wellness - Collaborate with counseling teams to build a repository of lessons that are being delivered by school counselors in alignment with district Social-Emotional Multi-Tiered Systems of support and goals - Provide support with maintaining current social-emotional resources, information, and training materials on the internal and public-facing SDUHSD webpage - Provide parent education and resources aligned to CASEL themes and collaborate with outside agencies for parent events - Review and utilize data sets related to positive school climate - Attend district meetings that support student mental health, wellness, and engagement - Regularly attend professional learning opportunities in areas of responsibility - Other duties as assigned

Requirements / Qualifications

Possession of a valid California Pupil Personnel Services School Counseling credential with one of the following authorizations: School Counselor School Psychologist School Social Work

  • Copy of Transcript (Please include BA/BS transcript along with all post-Bachelor's degree transcripts.)
  • Credential Copy
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (2 current letters within the last 3 years)
  • Resume
  • Test Results/Materials (Copy of CBEST or equivalent basic skills exam)

  • Pupil Personnel Services Credential - School Counseling
