Job Summary
Job Summary
Provide acceleration support for students in a small group setting (sometimes 3-4 weeks at a time) in multiple elementary and middle schools throughout the district. Accelerated Learning Specialist (ALS) will have access to and use research-based supplemental materials to deliver quality small group reading instruction. Training, materials, and coaching will be provided to ensure a successful supportive environment for ALS and students. The program will incorporate appropriate and differentiated learning strategies to enable students to make academic and socio-emotional growth. The ALS will use data and assessments to track student progress which will be an integral part of supporting student acceleration for our students.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and/or completion of AA degree (or equivalent post-secondary education) and the ability to pass an equivalency exam provided by the District. Three years of experience in an instructional setting may be substituted for either the AA degree or exam requirement. Must have or be willing to successfully complete training in the specialized techniques, strategies and procedures required for each assignment.
