Job Summary

We help students succeed when the traditional high school model does not work for them. Many students have to work, some are teen parents, others have to care for family members and some just want to get away from the traditional school model. Whatever the reason, we offer a free and innovative approach focused on personalized learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Plan, organize and implement daily lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum
  • Conduct pre and post-testing using standardized tests for each student
  • As a part of a team, write and implement goals as outlined in each student's IEP
  • Be responsible for managing the student’s behavior
  • Demonstrate competency in all subject areas
  • Participate in the identification of students with possible disabilities post intervention phase
  • Travel to other school sites to render Special Education teaching services
  • Position may include special day class settings
  • Provide academic assessments
  • Schedule and chair IEP meetings
  • Meet special education timeline requirements as specified by education code
  • Collaborate with general education teachers
  • Participate in authorized school district trainings
  • Complete reports as required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

A current/valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild-Moderate) AND (Moderate-Severe)

Prior Experience Working with Children (with LM, ED, MR, Autism, & other special needs) strongly recommended

COMPUTER/OFFICE SKILLS REQUIRED:
Microsoft Office; General Office Skills; Excellent Reading and Writing Skills
