<p>The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) serves our county’s most vulnerable students and supports school leaders, teachers, and students across the county.</p> <p>The Outdoor Education Department is seeking a highly motivated, caring professional to join us as a <strong>long-term substitute Camp Teacher</strong> from <strong>ASAP – June 12, 2023</strong>, at the original 6th Grade Camp, <strong>Cuyamaca Outdoor School.</strong> The residential outdoor education program is located in Descanso at the 25,000-acre Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, elevation 4,000 feet. We connect children to science through nature in a weeklong, hands-on outdoor education experience. Camp Teachers are outgoing, hard-working, energetic, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in children’s lives. The Camp Teacher will provide program leadership and coordination for one of the three villages that consist of ~120 students, 8 classified instructors, 2 overnight cabin leaders, and 4 visiting classroom teachers.</p> <p><span><u>Example Assignment Hours</u></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Monday 9:00am-6:00pm</span></li> <li><span>Tuesday 8:00am-5:00pm</span></li> <li><span>Wednesday 8:00am-5:00pm</span></li> <li><span>Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm</span></li> <li><span>Friday 7:30am-11:30am</span></li> </ul>
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires a Multiple Subject Credential with General Subjects Authorization as issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
This position is located at a remote school site and is paid at the following daily rate:
$230/daily through day 20
$240/daily (20+ days in the same assignment, no breaks in service; the rate is retroactive to the first day in the assignment).
Once the assignment is completed, the selected individual will be placed into the general substitute pool for SDCOE (should they choose to be placed).

- Certificate Copy (Copy of valid applicable credential or permit as issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing)
- Resume (Resume, detailing education and experience)
