Job Summary

Under the direction of the site principal, serves as a director of learning and provides support to all students to learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible citizens. Includes a $3,000 hiring bonus stipend, payable in three installments. First installment within the first two months of hire, second installment upon completion of first year of teaching with the District, and third installment upon reaching tenure with the District.

Duties:
As a director of learning helps students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women. The Special Education class provides a program of individualized instruction to students meeting eligibility requirements to the program, provides consultation regarding individuals with exceptional needs to regular staff members, coordinates special education with regular school programs, provides staff development and parent education, and implements laws, regulations and other compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
A valid California Moderate / Severe or Mild/moderate (orLH/SH) teaching credential with Clad certification, NCLB compliant; must have the knowledge of and ability to implement the subject matter, philosphical social, and educational concepts relative to the duties and responsibilities of a school teacher.

A valid California Level I or Level II Education Specialist Instruction Credential Certificate OR Intern Credential; CLAD or BCLAD certificate or equivalent; must have knowledge of and ability to implement the subject matter, philosophical, social, and educational concepts relative to the duties and responsibilities of a school teacher. Bilingual preferred.
