HTH has evolved into an integrated network of fourteen charter schools serving approximately 6,500 students in grades K-12 across four campuses (Point Loma, Clairemont, North County, and Chula Vista). The HTH organization also includes a comprehensive adult learning environment including a Teacher Credentialing Program and the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, offering professional development opportunities serving national and international educators. JOB FUNCTION/DESCRIPTION: HTH is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to join the central office team. The Human Resources Director will be responsible for the overall administration, coordination and performance of human resource functions of HTH in accordance with federal, state, and local employment regulations. The Human Resources Director will report to the Chief Operations Officer, and work with other internal leadership staff for the purpose of structuring, planning and directing human resource services, implementing strategies, supporting recruitment and hiring efforts, and participating in complex employment matters. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Develop, implement and improve upon human resources and employment policies and programs in accordance with organizational culture • Implement and coordinate new collective bargaining agreements with two recently established unions • Administer human resources training programs and provide necessary education and materials to supervisors and employees including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and reports • Maintain an employee training system that addresses, tracks and records professional d

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE AND LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATE: • This position calls for a minimum of a master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Organization Development, or in a closely related field from a fully accredited institution of higher learning • This position calls for an individual who demonstrates comprehensive, directly related experience, including a minimum of seven (7) or more years in a leadership role in Human Resources or closely related field. • Candidates with experience and understanding of the implementation of collective bargaining agreements. • Candidates with a Professional of Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL SETS: • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs • Prior experience working in Education administration preferred • Excellent writing, proofreading and verbal communication skills • Well-developed Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills • Proficiency with web based platforms such as Box, Google Calendar, Gmail, and others • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills • Strong work ethic, team player, and fiduciary sense of responsibility • High degree of professionalism • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and abide by confidentiality requirements • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences both in informal and formal settings • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills • A professional focus on continuous improvement • Bilingual - Spanish verbal communication and writing skills are a plus
