UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF: Instructional Specialist/Curriculum Specialist Essential Job Functions - Implements scientific-based reading and math research strategies to enable students to develop the competencies and skills to be successful in reading and math. - Identifies student needs through pre and post assessments. - Provides small group instruction designed to motivate and meet the individual needs of students. - Establishes and maintains standards of classroom management required to achieve effective participation in all activities. - Evaluates academic growth of students through administering pre and post assessments and tracking weekly progress. - Communicates student progress with teachers, curriculum specialists and administrators in order to help guide intervention and classroom instruction for individual students. - Attends and assists with Intervention Team or SST meetings as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications - Must possess an earned Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university - preferably in a Math related field - Must have successfully completed at least 30 units of coursework related to instruction, learning differences or child development (may have been part of the earned Bachelor’s degree program). Certifications - Must pass criminal background check - Must show proof of negative TB test results - Must complete CPR/First Aide certification and Child Abuse training within 30 days of employment Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics - Possess a general knowledge of instruction. - Ability to conduct reading and math assessments as well as to gather and analyze data. - Ability to use technology in the teaching/learning process. - Ability to utilize basic keyboarding skills and software skills (eg: Microsoft Word and Excel). - Possession of patience, flexibility and the ability to work well as a collaborative team member. - Physical ability to bend over, stand and sit for periods of time. - Reliable transportation to work.
