La Cañada Unified School District is posting an applicant pool search for a part-time school psychologist. The person holding this position would assist psychologists at the four school sites in the District. This part-time assignment at 0.75 FTE (75%) would be offered on a temporary contract, spanning the remainder of the school psychologist’s work year, through June 12, 2023.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications: 1. Credential: Valid California Pupil Personnel Services credential authorizing school psychologist services. Preferred: Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential. 2. Education: Master’s degree in school psychology. Work Year: This is a part-time position at 0.75 FTE (75%, or 5.25 hours per day), Monday through Friday doing school hours. It is expected that the position will be active five days a week, but there may be room to adjust work hours based on the needs of the work site and the supported psychologist(s). The first day of paid service will be upon clearance of a background check and tuberculosis assessment.

Salary: Placement on the psychologist salary schedule is dependent on education and years of employment in a public school district. No cap on years for public school experience. The starting monthly salary range for a 75% school psychologist is $5,660.58 to $8,513.69, corresponding to $337.94 to $508.28 per day. Paychecks would be issued on the last workday of the month, January through June 2023. Benefits: This position is eligible to participate in the District’s medical benefit plans. Currently the District’s maximum contribution to an employee’s benefits package is $18,034 per year. Premiums for a part-time employee are prorated based on the employee’s full-time equivalent (FTE) percentage, which for this position is 0.75 FTE (75% of a full-time position). An additional late start payment may be assessed to bring the new hire into compliance with the premium payment schedule.
