Job Summary

Job Summary

Purpose: To assist in the instruction and classroom supervision of students in all core curriculum. Requirements: Teacher Tutors must have a BA/BS, have a teaching credential, or qualify to receive an emergency credential allowing them to sub in the school. Teacher Tutors should be familiar with intervention strategies, pedagogical approaches, and curriculums used to extend or enrich the curriculum as needed. Essential Functions: Provide specific support services to students individually or in small groups in reading, literacy, math or other core content area. Assist certificated the teacher with supervision of students in structured and unstructured settings. Use or modify a variety of instructional materials for use with individuals or small groups. Provide and implement problem-solving strategies, comprehension activities and active learning experiences. Collaborate in the preparation of instructional materials and activities. Will be expected to make appropriate pedagogical decisions with regards to differentiation, approach, and learning goals. Monitor student progress using agreed upon data collection strategies. This data will be given to the teacher and can be used in evaluation, parent conferences, student success team meetings, and IEP meetings. Other duties as assigned such as attendance monitoring, providing office hours, assisting specialists with online learning, and more. Other Functions: Perform related duties as assigned.
