Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the Coordinator of Special Education provides supervision, coordination, planning, consultation, and assistance to special education staff and is responsible for assuring full educational opportunity for all pupils referred to the Individualized Educational Planning Team.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education: A Master’s Degree in education, or an area of specialization in special education, with advanced study in one or more of the major handicapping conditions. Experience: Minimum of five years of successful experience as a teacher at K-8 level or pupil services specialist. Administrative experience is desirable. Credential(s): Valid California Education Specialist Credential, Clinical Services Credential, Health Services Credential, or a school psychologist authorization AND California Administrative Services Credential Licenses: A California driver’s license and willingness to use own vehicle.

Work Schedule: 200 days / 8 hours per day Education Advancements: MA+15 - $500 annual stipend MA+30 - $1,000 annual stipend MA+45 - $1,500 annual stipend Doctorate - $2,000 annual stipend Health & Welfare Benefits: Employees receive an annual District contribution of $12,000 towards their choice of health plans.
