The Guidance Assistant - EMHI assists in the school’s Early Mental Health Initiative (EMHI) Program by scheduling and providing weekly individual and/or small group activity sessions for participating students; maintaining and monitoring manual or computerized forms, records, and progress reports; and providing information to parents, students, and district staff.

Requirements / Qualifications

This recruitment will establish an Eligibility List for current Guidance Assistant - EMHI position as well as any future vacancies. This list will be active for six (6) months with the possibility to be extended. This recruitment will establish an Eligibility List for ALL District locations. The San Diego Unified School District currently has a Guidance Assistant - EMHI position, 10.0 hours per week, 10-month position available at Clubberly Elementary School. This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly-salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list. For a promotional/open posting, the top ten internal applicants will be provided unless there is an insufficient number and then the list will be supplemented with the top external applicants to make up the ten (Employment Regulations for the Classified Service of the San Diego Unified School District: Article 2, Section 9). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to one year of experience working with children in counseling or guidance services in an elementary school setting.
