Job Summary
The Los Angeles County Office of Education is seeking cybersecurity professionals to join our innovative and leading Technology Services team. This position designs, implements, and monitors security measures for the protection of information technology systems, networks, servers, and other information by assuring computer systems and network devices are hardened against vulnerabilities and attacks, and ensures the security of highly sensitive data.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: An associate’s degree in computer science, business administration, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning accredited by a regional accrediting organization recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Three years of experience developing, implementing, and monitoring security solutions and programs or three years of experience as an Information Systems Security Specialist at the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Equivalency Provision: Current professional certification in one of the following may substitute for the associate’s degree: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or equivalent. Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.
