POSITION TITLE: REPROGRAPHICS CLERK
CLASS DEFINITION:
Positions within this class are characterized by having as their primary assignment clerical duties within an office or library setting. Under general supervision, these positions perform duties that are generally specific and routine in nature and include maintaining resources, filling out standard forms, keeping records and performing mathematical calculations, including the handling of money. The clerk classification is generally under the lead of a school secretary or department manager in school site settings, but is evaluated by the administrator. At the central services level, the clerk classification is generally given to positions that are under the lead of a department head. Levels within this class are differentiated by virtue of the level of skills required, the degree of independence expected of the position, and the level of education and experience or training required to perform the specifications of the assignment.
POSITION DEFINITION:
Under general supervision, to do a variety of clerical work, particularly in the area of document processing, involving numerous specific routines at the district level in service to all schools and departments in the district; act as a back-up receptionist; and do related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
•Operate production service equipment
•Receive, sort, date stamp and distribute mail
•Receive and make phone calls
•Type, sort and file letters, rosters and reports
•Assist staff and visitors
•Perform general office duties as directed.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Education and Experience - Graduation from high school with course work in office practices, or one year experience in performing general office clerical work.
Knowledge and Abilities - Knowledge of modern office practices; ability to communicate with students, teachers, parents and other adults; ability to type with reasonable speed and accuracy; knowledge of operation of basic office machines; ability to work cooperatively with others and to follow written and oral instructions.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
___Visual capability to read handwritten or typed documents, and the display screen of various office equipment and machines
___Able to conduct verbal conversation in English and other designated
languages
___Able to hear normal range verbal conversation (approximately 60 decibels)
___Able to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, walkAble to stand in one space for
sustained periods
___Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
___Able to push and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds on a wheeled
cart.
___Able to exhibit full range of motion for shoulder external rotation and
internal rotation
___Able to exhibit full range of motion for shoulder abduction and adduction
___Able to exhibit full range of motion for elbow flexion and extension
___Able to exhibit full range of motion for back flexion
___Able to exhibit full range of motion for hip flexion and extension
___Able to exhibit full range of motion for knee flexion
___Able to exhibit manual dexterity needed to operate a computer and other classroom and office equipment
