Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs designated tasks related to the maintenance of facilities and grounds; along with a variety of general and preventive maintenance activities, and emergency repairs to maintain the district physical plants in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS {include but not limited to): 1. Inspects, services and repairs, and in all respects maintains in good and sound operating condition all heating, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems. 2. Make repairs and replacements to electrical appliances and fixtures including clocks {time), scoreboards, etc. 3. Performs plumbing work including installation of pipe systems and fixtures. 4. Performs electrical work including installation of wiring systems and fixtures. 5. Performs carpentry tasks as required including such items as repairing hinges and locks, cutting and replacing windows, resetting doors, repairing all types of floor and wall surfaces, repairing roofs and rain gutters, and repairing furniture and equipment. 6. Performs painting and refinishing tasks as required. 7. Maintains all tools in proper working condition. 8. Requisitions needed materials, supplies, and equipment. 9. Does other related work as required and assigned. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Required: 1. Four years of experience of general building maintenance involving a combination of increasingly responsible experience in one of the building trades or related trades at a journeyman level. 2. Equivalent to completion of high school. 3. Ability to communicate effectively. 4. Hold and maintain a California Driver's License appropriate to the duties performed. Desirable: 1.
