Job Summary

Job Summary

The job of Department Secretary is done for the purposes of providing a wide variety of confidential administrative and secretarial support to department administrator; communicating information on behalf of administrator to department staff, other districts, public agencies, etc.; ensuring compliance of department/program activities with financial, legal and administrative requirements; and acting as liaison between the administrator and other parties, providing information, addressing issues and/or providing general support.

This position assists the Curriculum and Instruction Department with professional development, textbooks/materials orders and budgetary tracking and payments. The ability to work with multiple people and in multiple situations with different needs is required. A current (within two years) 40 wpm keyboarding testing certificate is required for this position. We do not accept online typing certificates. If you do not have a current typing certificate, please attach a document stating you understand that a typing certificate is required for this position and you will provide one if you have been selected for hire, prior to your start date. For current employees seeking a transfer, an updated resume and letter of introduction are preferred but not required.
