BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Under the general direction/supervision of the site administrator/designee, the On-Campus Liaison supervises the school campus, loading and unloading of busses and performs other duties directly related to this job description.  If applicable, the On-Campus Liaison provides emotional support and direction to students who have been restricted from participating in regular classroom activity and have been assigned to the On-Campus Suspension Center.  Shall be familiar with and comply with all collective bargaining contracts pertinent to this position and shall adhere to all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the state, county and school district governing board.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises students assigned to the OCS center, when applicable.
  • Develops specific criteria to identify students needing services.
  • Assists in developing an individualized prescription for each student’s need in cooperation with the Assistant Principal/designee.
  • Works closely with families in seeking resources necessary to correct students’ problems contributing to his/her behavior.
  • Makes home calls for parent conferences as necessary.
  • Provides the Assistant Principal/designee with written reports as requested.
  • Coordinates with staff regarding the completion of student assignments during On-Campus Suspension, when applicable.
  • Supervises students on campus.
  • Patrols the campus and surrounding area.
  • Supervises the loading and unloading of busses.
  • Maintains confidentiality concerning staff, students and their families.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly work station.
  • Willingness to update skills and knowledge commensurate with the demands of this position.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned on an equitable basis.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Ability to see and read, with or without vision aids; ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels; ability to communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation.
  • Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding, patient, warm and receptive attitude toward students, parents and staff.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with the families of students and to gain students’ confidence.

  • Ability to communicate satisfactorily in oral and written form.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, teachers, and administrators, and to relate effectively with parents and community members.
  • Ability to carry out assigned work with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports as required.
  • Ability to pass the District job related test.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Shall have Student Safety Assistant training or equivalent.  

 

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Shall possess a Student Safety Assistant Training certificate or a certificate that meets SB 1626.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS SUMMARY:  On Campus Liaison must be able to perform up to SEDITARY Physical Demand Classifications as described by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles including a dummy drag.
