Job Summary

The Program Coordinator for is a unique position that is primarily responsible for planning and coordination of all aspects of the ASES funded After School Academy (ASA) program. ASA provides students in grades 1st through 6th a safe space for expanded learning. Every day students have the opportunity to make social connections, experience enriching activities, and receive academic assistance. Students socialize and connect with our team and their peers daily. ASA supports students every school day immediately after school until 6pm. Our goal is to improve student’s social, emotional, and academic potential through community, education, recreation, and enrichment. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive) · Coordinate all aspects of a After School Academy program · Establish and maintain program records and computer databases · Supervise and assign programming tasks to instructors and volunteers · Maintain regular communication with school principals, teachers, and parents regarding student needs · Provide regular program updates including written reports to Supervisor in a timely manner · May work independently or in a team environment depending on program requirements · Provide expertise and support to Supervisor · Enforce City policies and procedures · May be required variable hours including evenings and weekends · Perform other duties as assigned SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED General supervision is provided by the Recreation Supervisor. Program Coordinator will provide general supervision of Lead Instructors, instructors and volunteers.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS · Must be at least 18 years of age. · Must possess one of the following: forty-eight (48) college semester units, AA Degree or higher · Relevant technical skill, education, experience or expertise · Experience assisting with implementation of children and/or youth programs and activities. · Ability to establish and maintain productive relations and positive attitude toward others · Excellent written and verbal skills · Excellent organizational and supervisory skills, be resourceful, flexible and able to work both alone or as a team member · Must be reliable and be able to provide transportation · Available to work Monday through Friday, 12:00pm-6:00pm schedule
