Job Summary
The Director, Early Education and Family Services is responsible for coordinating and directing all program and administrative services for the Head Start program, including: supervision and development of center operations, partners, home-based and comprehensive services staff; guidance of all program operations; and ensuring full compliance with State and Federal regulations and adherence to the Head Start Program Performance Standards, Head Start Act and state preschool CSPP funding terms and regulations. Leadership - Serves as ECS leader of early education and works closely with the VP of Programs to ensure consistency of high-quality nurturing early learning opportunities. - Works closely with VP of Programs, CEO, Board of Directors, Policy Committee, and related stakeholders to articulate priorities, evaluate services, and determine staffing and organizational structure. - Motivates, leads, guides, supports, and directs staff to implement the mission, vision, strategic plan and ensure appropriate consistency of all early education child development programs at ECS. - Holds individual ECS Head Start leaders accountable for achieving specific benchmarks and results in child and family outcomes. Observes and evaluates the performance of assistant director, managers, and other direct reports. - Oversees the development of the instructional leadership, training, and mentoring program for early education staff. - Analyzes child and family outcomes; leads data-driven decision making to increase student achievement, family outcomes and kindergarten readiness. OTHER/SPECIAL: Ability to pass a physical examination, tuberculin skin test, alcohol and drugs, including marijuana. Fingerprint clearance and criminal check required. Free from exclusion and debarment. Verification of current driver’s license and automobile insurance required for personal car usage. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, including booster is required.
EDUCATION: BS or BA with concentration in Child Development, Business, or Social Services.
EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) years of direct experience with a full-service Head Start program or educational program, including supervision of staff, fiscal management, and administration. Significant experience Significant experience and knowledge of State licensing requirements and Head Start Performance Standards. Strong knowledge of best practices and systems in the field of early childhood.
