Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs skilled work at the journeyman level in the maintenance and repair of school buses, cars, and related equipment. FCUSD is seeking to build a team that is representative of our student body and community. Diverse individuals are encouraged to apply.
Requirements / Qualifications
*This position is offering a $2,500.00 one Time Incentive payment. Payment will be disbursed in two equal payments on December 10, 2022, and again on May 10, 2023. The employee must be in paid status on those dates to qualify for compensation. Resume Two (2) Letters of Recommendation dated within the past year (Not a Prerequisite to apply for current FCUSD employees) The successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal communication skills, good IT, diagnostic and organization skills. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair which must include one year in heavy gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles. Education: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by courses in vehicle repair and equipment technology. Other: Possession of a current California Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement; possession of a standard heavy-duty vehicle mechanic tool set.
Upon Employment - Department of Justice Criminal Background Check - First Aid/CPR Training - Complete district training on Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment, etc - Post Offer Pre-Placement Physical Evaluation (Lift Test) demonstrating sufficient strength, mobility and range of motion to arm and floor lift 50 pounds in an employee physical entrance evaluation. This test will not be administered until AFTER you have been recommended for the position.
