Group Leader – ASES After School Program
Definition:
Under general supervision, to plan, organize, coordinate, administer, and participate in the day-to-day literacy, homework assistance/tutoring and enrichment after school program activities, and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of Duties:
Oversee literacy, homework and enrichment clusters of up to 20 students (total 100+).
Work effectively with school administration, parents, staff and volunteers.
Work well with students and develop and implement programs to assist them in improving academically.
Integrate curriculum into after school literacy component.
Communicate effectively and meet deadlines.
Accurately manage attendance reports.
Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
Maintain program site facility in a neat, clean, orderly and safe operating condition.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of: Literacy, homework assistance and enrichment programs;
Needs and behaviors of school-age youth;
Leadership and motivational techniques;
Report writing and record keeping systems and methods.
Ability to: plan, organize and implement program activities;
Operate standard office equipment and computer (including the internet);
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties;
Utilize problem solving skills;
Follow program policies and procedures.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an AA Degree or higher desirable; Shasta County Office NCLB Paraprofessional Exam Completion Certificate required.
Early Childhood Education or related area desirable.
Experience:
Previous experience working with youth preferable.
Other Requirements:
Must pass fingerprint clearance, TB test

ASES AFTER-SCHOOL GROUP LEADER Mon.-4.50 hrs./day ~ 1:15 p.m.-5:45 p.m. Tues.-Fri. 3.5 hrs./day ~ 2:15 p.m.-5:45 p.m. Applicant must meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. Applicant must possess an AA Degree (or) have 48 semester units of college coursework (or) have passed the Paraprofessional Exam to qualify. ***Proof of meeting requirements must be attached to application*** Applicant must be able to pass Department of Justice (DOJ) Fingerprint Clearance.
