Bishop Garcia Diego High School seeks a talented Resource Specialist who puts students first and strives to educate the entire person and make a difference in their life. We seek to attract culturally and academically diverse faculty who become engaged participants in our school community. The most successful candidates aspire to deliver an instructional experience that meets the individual needs of their students, and who model the school's core values of Compassion, Perseverance, and Respect. Their primary responsibilities are to: Create MAPs: Design and implement Minor Adjustment Plans for each student Provide instruction: Support the classroom curriculum by utilizing individualized approaches reflective of each student's needs Assess students: Evaluate student skills and progress; utilize Psycho-educational Reports Develop competencies: Develop student's competencies in response to their MAP: promote self-advocacy to support successful transition to post secondary education Collaborate: Work with general education teachers, therapists, supervisors, and parents; with district professionals/colleagues to develop Individual Service Plans and triennial assessments Communicate: Inform parents of their child's progress Other duties include, but are not limited to: SSD coordinator (College Board applications), applying for accommodations on the ACT, working with the admissions team to determine inclusion in the Resource program The Resource Program serves students with diagnosed learning differences who qualify for a minor adjustment plan. These adjustments are consistent with those provided at the post-secondary level, The College Board, etc. Students may qualify for a Resource period, or may utilize the program as needed. The successful candidate will work with one other Resource Specialist to provide services to approximately 55 students.
