Job Summary

Under the direction of the Superintendent and Chief Business Official, the District’s Human Resources Department plans, organizes, controls and administers the District’s Human Resources system for classified, certificated, and confidential employees. Although a management position, this is also a technical position that requires quality independent work and judgment. The HR department for our small district constitutes this single employee. Duties and responsibilities will require a high level of skill with various computer programs, including spreadsheets and database entry/management and reporting. A high degree of coordination between this role and the payroll and position control functions is shared with the Chief Business Official’s staff. Abilities: Requires the ability to interpret policies, procedures, techniques, and rules governing human resources management and practices. Must be able to adapt and learn new procedures and programs as implemented by the District. Must be familiar with Health and Safety regulations. Requires the ability to communicate with peers and other District staff or the public in a manner reflecting positively on the department and District. Requires the ability to problem-solve and recommend actions regarding personnel issues. Demonstrates ability to enter data into standardized formats using computerized database programs. Must be able to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education or related field; Minimum of three years experience in an administrative capacity including experience working with certificated and classified personnel; Knowledge of state credential requirements and procedures in addition to practices and procedures related to certificated personnel. Valid California Driver’s license and vehicle. Fingerprint and tuberculosis clearances as required by law.
