The Matriculation Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking qualified individuals for an opportunity as an Student Services Technician! This incumbent will help to facilitate day to day operations of the Welcome Center. The incumbent will need to have knowledge of matriculation and onboarding services such as application, orientation, placement, and registration. The incumbent will also need to possess a combination of clerical and technical skills including knowledge of proctoring methods, assessment and testing documents as well as general office practices, procedures and equipment. The individual should also be well versed in general student support services in a community college setting. We are looking for someone who has obtained an Associate's degree in education, business administration or a related field. Additionally, these candidates must have two (2) years of experience working with college-age or adult students in an instructional support, testing, or student service environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Duties

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Conducts, monitors, and proctor's student screening, testing, placement, orientation, and registration activities for a specialized area supporting student services, which may include but is not limited to, Matriculation and the Welcome Center. Offers prospective, incoming, and current students' information and assistance related to onboarding services and specialized programs and also facilitates referrals and other supports and services. May facilitate the day-to-day administrative support and activities of an assigned office.

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:Education, Training and Experience:

 

• Associate's Degree in education, business administration or a related field

• Two (2) years of experience working with college-age or adult students in an instructional support, testing, or student service environment

• An equivalent combination of training and experience

 

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy if attendance to off-site District events is part of the assigned duties and responsibilities.

• Oral Panel Interview: (100%)
