The Child Development Center Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking a highly qualified individual for a current opportunity as a Child Development Center Program Assistant! This incumbent will have knowledge of Office administration practices and procedures as relates to operating a Child and Adult Care Food Program, as well as food sanitation and safety practices and basic nutritional terminology. We are looking for someone who has obtained graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent. Additionally, this candidate must have two years of increasingly responsible office administrative experience in a nutritional program setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. • Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Eligibility list: We reserve the right to use an established eligibility list for vacancies in this classification. The eligibility list be valid for 12 months once approved by the Personnel Commission.

Duties
JOB DESCRIPTION
Child Development Center Program Assistant performs routine nutritional planning and coordination to provide twice-daily snacks to all eligible children in both of the Districts' Child Development Centers. This works requires basic knowledge of food and nutrition appropriate for toddler and pre-school children. Additionally, an incumbent performs routine report preparation, records maintenance and other assigned clerical and administrative duties to ensure the District provides accurate, complete nutrition program information to the State for reimbursement of funds.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:
• Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent
• Two years of increasingly responsible office administrative experience in a nutritional program setting
• An equivalent combination of training and experience
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

• If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (~3 months) to test again for the same classification.

• Oral Panel Interview: (100%)
• Final Interview: With Hiring Authority and Committee
