We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing & Media Technician located at our campus in Temecula, CA. Under the direction of the Public Information and Marketing Director or designee, the Technician develops and implements online and social media marketing plans, updates website pages, creates digital, video and print media collateral and assets to support outreach, special projects and programs, and events, in accordance with District standards and protocols.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. An Associate's degree (attach transcripts); AND 2. Two (2) years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or publicity; AND 3. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph*** SUBSTITUTIONS Substitutions for meeting the minimum qualifications of this position are allowed. Substitutions for the professional experience requirement are allowed SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES Position requires tracking of media during off work hours to ensure incumbent stays abreast of current issues in the arenas of education, public affairs and marketing in general, in the California community college system and specifically related to Mt. San Jacinto College May require some evening and weekend responsibility DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. An Associate's degree in English, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or Marketing 2. A Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or Marketing 3. Bilingual in Spanish (fluency in speaking and writing with proper grammar and spelling) 4. Professional experience in communications 5. Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing and graphic design 6. Proficiency in the use of Adobe CS and MS Office 7. Experience shooting still photography 8. Knowledge of HTML and Web content management systems 9. Familiarity with multimedia trends, technologies and capacities 10. Experience in social media platforms, tools, and analytics 11. Background in creating digital content
