Job Summary
Plans and coordinates meetings and public hearings; monitors participant attendance; prepares and distributes minutes and follow-up actions. Composes correspondence for a variety of matters; screens and prioritizes incoming communications; interprets, clarifies and explains Marin County Office of Education policies and programs to students, staff, parents and the general public; communicates with Marin County Office of Education personnel, school districts and outside agencies; solicits and collects requested information and compiles/summarizes data for reports or documents; maintains accurate records/files including time records, claims, personnel documents, divisional website, and legal documents. As dictated or directed, prepares, formats, proofreads, edits and revises various documents, including letters, memos, messages, minutes of meetings, reports, agendas, agreements, forms and charts; schedules and coordinates supervisor’s calendar, appointments, and travel/conference arrangements. The position has strong planning and coordination components and requires the incumbent to function effectively in an atmosphere of unpredictable deadlines and demands.
