Job Summary

Pleasant Grove Middle School, located in the scenic community of Rescue, California, just west of El Dorado Hills, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Vice Principal to join our leadership team. Our school is home to a veteran and passionate staff committed to student success through AVID strategies and a culture of continuous improvement. As Vice Principal, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment. You will support the principal in leading instructional initiatives, ensuring a safe and supportive school climate, and engaging staff, students, and families in achieving our shared vision. Key responsibilities include: • Instructional Leadership – Support staff in implementing research-based instructional strategies, particularly in alignment with AVID and continuous improvement practices. • School Climate & Student Support – Promote a positive school culture by implementing effective student support systems, discipline policies, and restorative practices. Lead the continued development and implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to foster a proactive, school-wide approach to behavior management. Support staff in utilizing data-driven decision-making to reinforce positive behaviors, reduce disciplinary incidents, and create a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported. • Staff & Community Engagement – Build strong relationships with teachers, students, and families to foster a collaborative school community. • Operational & Administrative Support – Assist in managing day-to-day school operations, including scheduling, supervision, and ensuring compliance with district policies. This position is ideal for a student-centered, collaborative, and forward-thinking leader who is eager to make a meaningful impact in a school that values excellence, innovation, and growth.

Requirements / Qualifications

Valid California Administrative Services Credential authorizing service at the K-8 level. Valid CA driver's license. Valid First Aid and CPR certificate. Minimum 5 years teaching experience in K-8. Master's degree desirable, plus evidence of recent professional growth. Administrative experience desirable.
