Job Summary

Job Summary

A Substitute Teacher in the Glendale Unified School District works at any or all of our schools. They follow lesson plans left by a teacher who is absent for the day or longer. Must have good classroom management skills in order to continue instruction when the teacher is absent. Must have knowledge of and be able to use technology in order to view and select daily substitute assignments posted by teachers on a web based substitute finder program.

Requirements / Qualifications

California has waived Basic Skills Requirements for all 30-day substitute teacher permit candidates From 1/1/23 through the calendar year. This means that the previously required CBEST or equivalent is not required at this time. MATERIALS Have or be eligible for a 30-day substitute teaching credential. Fully credentialed teachers are desirable. Proficient in another language such as Spanish, Armenian, Korean, Japanese, German, French, or Italian desirable. Credentials in Special Education are also desirable.
