Merced College is a midsized community college located in California's Central Valley. Founded in 1962, the college serves more than 16,000 students, with room to expand on its 267-acre main campus and 120-acre Los Banos site, as well as at our innovative Business Resource Center in Downtown Merced. The City of Merced, incorporated in 1889, offers historical sites, affordable housing and access to the Bay Area and Sacramento. Merced is known as the Gateway to Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Nevada mountains, and is home to the University of California's newest campus, UC Merced. Our tree-shaded, growing community of just over 80,000 includes multiple biking and walking trails as well as access to several lakes — large and small — throughout the county.
The HVAC Technician is involved in the evaluation, operations, maintenance and repair of the District's heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This position involves tasks such as operating the District's energy management computer system (EMS), inspecting HVAC equipment, mechanical and plumbing operations related to heating and cooling, and maintaining cooling towers. The HVAC Technician also works with and assists a dedicated team of other skilled trades that include Carpenters, Electricians, and general Maintenance Technicians. The HVAC Technician is a valuable member of Merced College's Capital Projects and Facilities Department and holds a critical role in maintaining a safe and innovative environment for our staff and students. We are looking for someone to join our team that is willing to embrace ever changing challenges and remove obstacles for student success. This position is for an individual who possesses novel solutions and a "get it done" attitude. No two days are alike! The Capital Projects and Facilities Department invites you to apply to join our team!
