Job Summary

Job Summary

The Program Specialist, SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) provides consultation, coaching, one-to-one assistance and group presentations; classroom support; instructional and behavioral strategies for regular education and special education teachers, resource specialists, designated instruction and services personnel and others providing instructional services to children and adolescents with disabilities; has specialized knowledge in preschool disabilities, career/vocational development or one or more areas of major disabling conditions; and must have advanced training and related experience in the education of individuals with exceptional needs.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Valid California Clear Special Education Teaching -or- Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) - School Psychology Services -or- Speech Language Pathology Services -or- Clinical Rehabilitative Services – Language, Speech, and Hearing Credential; • Master’s degree in Special Education or a related area from a regionally accredited college or university; • Three (3) years of experience teaching special education or providing special education related services; • Experience planning and presenting staff development activities;
