Job Summary

A Library Technician performs technical and specialized clerical duties in one or more of the functional areas of acquisition, circulation, periodicals, or cataloging in a library or learning resources center. A thorough knowledge of technical library resources and procedures is continuously applied in performing the duties of this class. SALARY INFORMATION MONTHLY SALARY: $4,416.18-$5,470.88 ($52,994.16-$65,650.56 annually) *Salary Information is based on a full-time, 12-month position. VACANCY INFORMATION A vacancy exists at East Los Angeles College, 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez, Monterey Park, CA 91754. BENEFITS District-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for employee and dependents. $50,000 District-paid life insurance policy. 12 full-pay days and 88 half-pay days of illness leave. A minimum of 16 paid holidays per year. Up to 24 days of vacation annually depending on years of service. Public Employees Retirement System. Employee Assistance Program. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE OF AN APPLICATION: Education and Experience: A. Graduation from high school or its equivalent AND two years of full-time, paid library clerical experience. OR B. Graduation from high school or its equivalent AND successful completion of three core courses in library media technology from a recognized college or university AND one year of full-time, paid library clerical experience. OR C. Graduation from high school or its equivalent AND successful completion of six core courses in library media technology from a recognized college or university.
