This is a continuous examination process and may close at any time, with little or no notice. An application review may occur at any time and qualified candidates who have submitted applications will be invited to participate in the testing process. Qualified applicants submitting applications after the review date will be considered in the next examination process. This list will be utilized to fill any vacancies that may occur during the one year life of the Eligibility List, which may include temporary positions. The list generated from this recruitment will be used to fill both substitute and permanent vacancies in the District. Record test scores, process required forms and file data in student cumulative records according to established procedures and regulations. Translate from English to a second designated language and from a second language to English with accuracy and comprehension.

Add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately.
Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.

Operate office standard equipment including typewriter, copier, calculator and facsimile machine.
LICENSES AND OTHER CERTIFICATIONS: Valid California driver’s license.
This position is subject to the provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year of experience working with students in an organized bilingual setting.
Completion of two years of higher education study OR possession of an Associate's or higher level degree, OR pass assessment that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics OR reading, writing, and mathematics readiness.
NOTE: Incumbents hired prior to January 8, 2002 will have until January 8, 2006 to comply with the college or assessment requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
ENVIRONMENT: Indoor environment; subject to driving to various locations to conduct work.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Hear and speak to exchange information in English and a designated second language; stand and walk for extended periods of time; bend at the waist and kneel or stoop to assist students; and see to read test scores and monitor testing activities.
