About the Employer

We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Business and Operations or its designee, supervise, direct, plan, organize, control, and manage operations and activities involved in the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and repair of District computer, network and electronics systems, databases and related hardware, software, and peripherals. Coordinate, research, develop, schedule, and implement department projects; assist with District wide communications and services; and supervise, train, evaluate and professionally develop the performance of assigned personnel.

KNOWLEDGE OF: Management of operations and activities involved in the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and repair of District computer systems and related hardware, software, and networks. Management of operations and activities involved in the methods, materials, tools, testing devices and equipment used in electronics work. Design, construction, installation, repair and maintain electronic and communication systems, devices, and equipment. Computer hardware systems and software applications utilized by the district. Technical aspects of electronics. Practices, procedures, and techniques involved in the troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of computer hardware, software, network, network security and peripheral equipment, and malfunctions. Current principles, methods and procedures of operating computers, network systems, databases, and peripherals. Database structures, on-line applications, and system capabilities of District computer systems. (Refer to job description for full details). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information System or management of information systems or closely related field and five years increasingly responsible experience involving the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and repair of computer systems, networks, network security, databases, and related hardware and software peripherals. A minimum of three years in a direct supervisory capacity of varied technology subject areas.
