School Psychologist (9-12 Grades) Reports To: Director of Special Education FLSA Classification: Certificated, 200-day Full Time/Part Time Status: Salary, full time, exempt Regular/Temporary: Regular Salary: School Psychologist Framework (Steps 1-25) Range: $78,909 to $ $112,764. Salary is commensurate with experience and education level. School Site Location: High Tech High North County (San Marcos campus) The School Psychologist provides psychological services in order to help identify and evaluate the learning, developmental, and psychosocial capacities and functioning of students. The School Psychologist uses student assessment data to assist teaching teams to develop appropriate interventions and programs and works collaboratively with teachers, service providers, parents, and case managers to enhance support within our inclusive, project-based learning environment. HTH has evolved into an integrated network of sixteen charter schools serving approximately 5,500 students in grades K-12 across four San Diego County campuses (Point Loma, Clairemont, North County, and Chula Vista). The HTH organization also includes a comprehensive adult learning environment including a Teacher Credentialing Program and the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, offering professional development opportunities serving national and international educators.
Job Function/Description
School Psychologists conduct psycho-educational testing in order to help identify and evaluate the learning, developmental, and psychosocial capacities and functioning of students. They use student assessment data to assist teaching teams to develop appropriate interventions and programs, and work collaboratively with teachers, clinicians, parents, and case managers to enhance supports within our fully inclusive, project-based learning environment.
- Implement the four HTH Design Principles (equity, personalization, authentic work and collaborative design)
- Listen to concerns about academic, emotional or social problems
- Evaluate and advise school disciplinary practices for troubled students
- Conduct psycho-educational testing
- Use student assessment data to assist teaching teams to develop appropriate interventions and programs
- Meet with parents and teachers to discuss learning, behavioral, familial and social problems
- Occasionally this individual will be asked to provide services in functional behavioral assessment, including behavioral analysis, behavioral plan design, and data collection and interpretation
- Perform related duties as assigned
Knowledge and Qualifications
- CA Pupil Personnel Services School Psychology Credential (or equivalent license from another state and clear eligibility for immediate credentialing as a school psychologist in California)
- Masters Degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
- Minimum one year of experience as a credentialed school psychologist, or graduation from an accredited graduate program with at least one full year or equivalent as a school psychologist intern
- DOJ Fingerprint Clearance
- TB Clearance
